Research interests

Dr. Amy Milsom's research focuses on choices and transitions related to careers and postsecondary education. Her work has explored the skills and dispositions needed for successful transitions to school and work as well as the factors that influence college and career choice and satisfaction. Much of that work has centered around individuals with disabilities. She also has explored the role of school counselors in fostering college and career readiness. The third edition of her co-authored book, “Career and College Readiness Counseling in P-12 Schools,” was published in 2021 and has been used as a professional development resource in many school districts throughout the United States.
